FLEXTRENE
Water is a key foe to buildings and construction industry. Untreated external surfaces pave way for moisture ingress, compromising the building’s structural stability. Hence, a water resistant coating is necessary to protect the building and a normal coating would suffice the requirement. But, an other angle to extend this problem is the mechanical integrity, which is dependent on diferent weather conditions.
A classic example is the expansion and contraction phenomena, where in summers, due to rapid heat, the concrete tends to expand in micro-meters causing hairline cracks. Moreover, the absorbed water, salt from the concrete (if not cured properly) diffuses out of the matrix giving rise to efflorescence.
These hairline cracks on the buildings act as micropores during rains. These hairline cracks pave way for water to enter the building. Wind-driven rains are prone to increase the damage with excessive moisture intake, thereby weakening the structure. So, a uniform coating film is necessary to prevent external water intake and also needs to be flexible to accommodate the structure’s micro expansion. The problem seems challenging but not with FLEXTRENE technology.
FLEXTRENE is a unique state of the art technology that offer both hydrophobicity and flexible characteristics. The coating film is naturally water resistant, hence prevents external water intake. At the same time, the advanced elastic behaviour provides excellent crack-bridging abilities and helps the coating act as a flexible waterproofing membrane.
HYDRA ROLLS
External water resistance is an important property to prevent water from passing through the coating. Generally, coatings are water resistant but not hydrophobic. Herein, we introduce the exclusive first-in-class HYDRA ROLLS technology which is an efficient mechanism that substantially increases the water contact angle. In simple terms, when water molecule comes in contact with the coating surface, it should significantly wet the surface in order to make contact with the coating film. But with HYDRA ROLLS, the contact angle is high which results in less to no contact of water molecules with the surface. As a result, during rains there is a strong water beading effect similar to the ones on Lotus leaves. The water just rolls off the surface and does not adhere. This property helps the coating film to last longer than traditional coating systems.
